Hi, im trying to share files on my network at home, i cant seem to get it to work
i tryed everything i know/researched online

I can ping eachother, but i cant see it in "microsoft windows network"

Both computers are on the same Workgroup, and subIP 192.168.1.X

Network is setup
Dsl Modem to a 4 port Hub To computers

Computer #1 labtop
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.169.1.9

Computer #2 Destop

Unless it is a typo, you have 2 different gateways.

You need to enable file sharing correctly on both computers, also please disable firewall (Windows firewall, antivirus firewall, etc) on both computers temporary until you have shared file successfully.

and fixed the gatway to match,

still no go:(

Open your file explorer, then type \\<remote-PC-IP> (example \\192.168.1.1) to connect the remote PC directly, see whether it works..

i fixed it by runnign winsockxp
which reinstalled all network drivers/and reseted the settings

then i "add a network place"

then i can see eachother now
weird
