Subject: cant share files with xp OS: xp home CPU/Ram: 2.0 / 256 2.4 / 1.0GB

Comment: I cant share files. There are 2 computers using xp home. One is hard wired to the linksys router and the other is using a wireless NIC. They both can use the internet and the wireless computer can use the printer of the hard wired computer that has a local printer. So I can share the printer but no files. When I try to connect to a network share I recieve an error message the says folder could not open file, or you may not have permission. Not enough server storage memory to proceed this task. How much memory do i need to share? Or am i doing somthing wrong. one computer has 1.0 GB of RAM and the other has 256. I can see both computers from each computer and there shares but i get that message that there is not enough server storage. can somebody help me please.. thanks Mark

Reply: (edit)go to my computer of the PC in which you want to share; right-click c:\ & click "sharing" -> check to see if everything is shared, it should show a "C$" -if it does, then there should also be a button below it somewheer that says "new share" in that new share type "C" --w/o the "$" because that symbol blocks the c and you wanna expand it; there should be a permission tab and add whoever you like
