My connection range is good and my desktop will connect wired but I can't get my laptop to connect wireless. both the laptop and desktop connected fine before I set up the security. There is nothing that shows up to type in a password when I try to connect to my router. My router is a linksys WRT400N

If you have configured the wireless network at the router for encryption, you need to use the same settings at the laptop.

E.g.: If encryption type is WPA2, you must configure the laptops encryption type also to WPA2.
You also have to use the wireless network name (SSID) and the encryption key, you've configured at the router.
