Can't See Network Connections

Hi,
I have a PC on a wired network and I've just installed a wireless network card. Both are working fine, but for some reason, when I go into Network & Dialup Connections, I can't see either connector. In fact I couldn't see the wired connector before installing the wireless card, so the problem pre-dates that.
I have another PC with the same OS and just a wired network and I can't see the connector in Network & Dialup Connections on that either.
A third PC has WinXP Pro and that seems fine.
Any advice on resolving this would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for providing the solution. Most of the time we throw ideas out and never get feedback that any worked.

Hi OrionCA
well very strangely, although it worked once it seems not to be working now!
I found a solution in:
right click My Computer and select manage. Click Services & Applications, then Services.
Network Connections should say Started but it didn't. By right clicking one can select Start at which point the network connections became visible in the Network and Dial Up Connections folder. Sadly, although it says Started, the connections are now not visible again!
