Can't remote connect to home pc

I'm recently unable to connect to my home pc from work. At home the pc I'm trying to connect to is running Win XP Pro. It's on a network connected with a Zyxel P314 router/switch (similar to the Netgear RT314). Recently I upgraded the firmware on the router and I don't think I've tried conecting remotely since then. Until recently I'd been able to connect using XP's Remote Desktop and also using Windows Terminal Services.
On the router I have port 3389 (used by Remote Desktop)forwarded to the static ip I've assigned to my pc. On the pc I have the default gateway set to 192.168.1.1. I've tried setting the primary DNS to that same ip and also to to the ip that gets assigned when I let it get the DNS automatically. Still can't get in.
I've also tried to connect with pcAnywhere, which I'd never done, forwarding ports 5631 and 5632 to the static ip. That doesn't work either.
I tried connecting remotely to another XP machine on the network and got the same result which I think kind of points to the router. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
