Hi

We have a network which I have configured to use netbios as the protocol to communicated with our server, TCP/IP us also installed and is setup not to bind to the microsoft network but is the default protocol.

I can access the network and internet without any problem but I can't ping from my windows 98 machine to other machines on my network or outside it. A DNS server is setup internally and a firewall as well.

Is there any problem in setting up this way?
as I thought by doing this it will protect the shared data internally from going out to the internet.

Thanks

Ken

Hi, do you think it could have something to do with the firewall? The firewall is working just fine, maybe alittle to much to allow for a ping.
