I have a new Dell computer operating with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit system. I installed the new drivers for an OKI C5550 MFP printer, but my computer is not able to ping the non-routable IP address for the printer. Dell and OKI have not been able to help and recommend contacting Microsoft. Any ideas?

In order to use the printer it has to be on the same network as the rest of your computers therefore there is no need for it to be routed. There should be a facility to change the IP address to match your LAN. It cant be a fixed unchangable IP address as that would be silly.
What is this non-routable address and what is the address of the rest of your LAN?

All ips are routable. Not all ips can be used on the internet [public vs private ip for example].
You need to include how your are connected to the printer and lan.
