can't open screen to reset router password

Specs: Windows 7
I followed the instruction and type cmd, then in the black screen, i typed ipconfig. lots of data appeared, i copied the ip address to the browser, but it can't open the page. Please help.

Depending on what router it is, there's normally a small pinhole button at the rear of the unit that will reset your router to its factory settings & in the majority of cases that will remove the wireless passkey. ipconfig shows a number of ip addresses, depending on how your network is set up so you need to choose the correct one - simpler to reset as above and then check the manual for what the default ip is.

If you want to get in without losing current settings, the ip you want is default gateway. But you'll need the log in also, otherwise you will have to reset the router. When in there do a back up of your settings.
