Hi, I have a small ad-hoc wireless network. Both the clients can access the server through My Network Places, and the server can access one of the clients the same way, but the second client is not accessible. When I try to access the client from Workgroup Computers on the server or try to Add A Network Place from to the client I get this error:

\\client is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permissions. Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

I can ping the client from the server and the client can open both the 2nd client and the server through My Network Places and it uses ICS through the server.
What must I do to grant the server access to the client?
Thanks
Alex

Hi, thanks for the reply, sorry for the lack of info. All the computers on the network are running Windows XP Pro. The network is working perfectly, both clients can access the server, client1 can access client2 but neither client2 nor the server can access client1. Both get access is denied, although client1 appears on the list of workgroup computers.

The server is setup so it can share it's internet connection, with a manual IP address 192.168.0.1. All the computers are connected to the Workgroup 'NETWORK' and the two clients automatically assign IP addresses and join the network. They all work fine individually, but client1 seems to be blocking access to the other two computers. How to I allow access to this client?
Thanks
Alex

Reply:

1. check if file sharing is enabled.
2. check whether firewall block such a kind of sharing.
