I transfered a whole folder full of Mac files to a Win2k network. That works fine. However, when using a Win2k computer to modify the files, some files throw the error "Cannot read from the source file or disk". I can't rename, delete or move these file anywhere. There seems to be no pattern to the problem files. The lack of file extensions doesn't seem to be the problem, neither does the file security. I can still modify the files through the Mac, but that doesn't help me much.

I've run out of ideas. I hope someone with a similar problem has found a solution.

If the files were created on the Mac, i dont see how a Win2K could modify them. I dont have much mac experience, but I know there are 3rd party apps that will allow you to modify mac file on pc and pc files on mac. I would try something like that.

To clarify, by 'modify', I mean things like renaming, deleting or moving the files. It can be done on the majority of these files, but I'm having problems with a few.

I have a bit of experience with filesharing between Macs and PC's. Please give me as much detail as you can about these files. What applications generated them? Where are they stored now (i.e. are they in a different location than the files that are not giving you problems)? What MacOS did they start on? Have you tried retransferring the files from the Mac? What method did you use to transfer them?
