Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 1.994 GHz / 2549 MB
I have 2 computers; a Toshiba and LG both run with XP . I have a linksys router. On the network, the Toshiba can see the LG folders and can access them but the LG cant see Toshiba folders (I get a message that the drive is inaccessable). I disabled the anti virus and the firewalls on both compters but didnt work. How do I trouble shoot this matter.

The exact error message would help a lot to troubleshoot the issue.

Assuming you've shared the folder properly, it could be a simple access problem. Click on my name above in my response and read my "how-to" guide "You try to connect to a share....."

It may help you resolve the issue. If not, respond back with the exact error message you get when you attempt to connect.

I am not asked for a user name or password. The error message is like this:

"\\Toshiba\D is not accessible. You might not be permitted to use this network resource. Contact the administrator to find out.if you have access permission.
The network path was not found."

I did the sharing by right click on the drive..etc.

I dont use log in info on any of them. I didnt set any password on neither. Sharing function doesn't give the option of restricting access to certain users. You either share the drive or dont. So what is left?
