Can't locate one computer by its ip

I can access the remote internet with the configuration of the net card.And I can see many computers in my net neighber.But I can't locate one host by "\\192.168.0.23"--it is my internal IP address.Even I can't search one computer with ip address.But I can locate by computer name "Pine".why?
I can also succeed in pinging 192.168.0.23.
My protocol included Client for microsoft networks
VMware Bridge Protocol
File and printer sharing for ...
Qos Packet Scheduler
NWlink Netbios
NWlikng ips/xpx/netbios compatibel
tcp/IP
My OS is xp.
and sub net mask is 255.255.255.0
