computers (and I have done this before successfully, my computer needed the hardrive replaced and now I can't seem to remember how I got past this problem) and having problem with getting my computer to even get me to logon to the network... I have tried doing what was written in reply to the same problem in the FAQ section, but it's not working... the only way I can get anywhere close to this is if in the 'network neighbourhood', under 'configuration', i click the properties of 'client for microsoft network' and check off the 'logon to windows NT domain' (although I know that in the end it's not supposed to be checked off), then i can go into the 'passwords' section in the 'control settings' and can type in new passwords for the network logon, but it won't successfully change it because it says that the 'domain controller cannot be found'... Please Help! Thanks.

I have the same problem, and that was not the issue. My workgroup is setup the same as the rest of the machines on my network. Same caps and everything. I am having the problem in Windows 98. I even removed and reinstalled the adapter and protocols.

Try to reset the password file. Do a search for *.pwl and delete all entries that come up. Make sure that in the network properties you have the right logon client set as the primary.
