hi,
In my office lan network i need to keep a new computer. The lan cable provided there is very short to reach CPU, Then i bought LAN joiners which were like both sides female connectors to fit RJ-45 plugs in it.
I connected them when iam giving a ping some times its coming and some times it`s not. So, now i changed cable and connectors, the lan joiners even then it is the same case.
Can any body help how to add any lan extention cable with out any problems.Thanq

Hello
1. How long is the cable? Make sure it doesn't exceed 100 meters
2. Make sure you are using the latest NIC driver.
3. Make sure your NIC's duplex setting is set to auto-negotiation or 100mbps/full-duplex
4. if the above doesn't work out, try to use another port on your router.

If you do a continuous ping does it succeed for a while then time out for a while then succeed again and so on? If that's the problem I have seen duplicate IP assignments cause that.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

By "lan joiners" do you mean a coupler? It's possible the coupler is bad. Why not just buy a longer network cable?
And, the cable doesn't connect to the CPU; it connects/plugs into the network card (NIC.)
