I have 4 computers connected to the Internet through a Linksys 4-port router using a DSL provider. In an attempt to set up a home network, I created a Network Setup Disk on my XP machine and ran the setup on my Me machine. Now the Me machine cannot even access the router (before running this setup, I could get to the internet). How can I undo what this "Network Setup Disk" has done?

The router should have a physical switch or button that resets it to the factory defaults, in case something like this happens. Sometimes it is hidden, so check the manual also.

Got to control panel -> network connections and delete the network bridge. Just a guess.

To add to darkfriend also see if your were assigned a static IP address. If so take that out that IP address and select "Obtain an IP Address Automatically". Hopefully that will get you back on the net (if your using DHCP from the router.)

Thanks, mbrook. I checked and TCP/IP was set to obtain dynamic address. Just for grins, I changed it to static and gave it an address. Lo and behold, I can now at least get to the setup page of my router, but no further. What's happening!???

When you used the network setup disk the addressing was changed to point to your XP machine.
Setting static address does not give you a gateway address. Try adding the routers address as the gateway on your ME machine.
