When I try to delete files on my Network drive (from xp or vista) I get an access denied error. Some files were created from XP and others from Vista. Unable to take ownership in Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There needs to be a user account on the computer that contains the shared network drive that has the same user name and password as the user account on the client PC.

No there doesn't. Is this a share you setup? If so, you need to take ownership of the files. Then you can modify the permissions accordingly. If you didn't setup the share, then you need to check with your Administrator and see why you don't have Delete permissions.
