Can't connect with wireless card

So when I try to wirelessly connect to my router on my laptop, in the process, it gets stuck on, "aquiring IP Address" and never connects. What do I do?

Give it a static IP address & static DNS entries.

Make sure you have configured DHCP setting on router, so that can assign IP and other network info to your laptop. If you need more helps, take a look on this wireless network troubleshooting articles.
