I cannot access my broadband connection via my Linksys wireless router and my DSLink 220E modem/router. (Direct via modem OK, access to my router via wireless OK). I think there is a conflict somewhere between the 2. Connection type is PPPoE, and as far as I can see, configs on both sides seem to be OK. Anyone have this similar problem? Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks from Brazil,
JM

Never. My wireless router used to be connected directly to a LAN in my building with no problem (no modem), but in a recent move to a house, I contracted a DSL broadband connection from my telco, who supplied the DSL modem. The router and modem communicate, but I get a response that the server could not be located. (No problem though when I'm hard-wired directly to my modem). Both my modem (which is also a 1-port router) and router have the same default IP address. Could this have something to do with it?

Each device, even routers, need their own IP's, so this does seem to be part of your problem, if not the whole problem.

Found the problem - Me.
I'm admittedly a moron.
You were right Rex, part of the problem was a duplicate IP address - thanx for that. But there was another glitch.
I had tried every possible config on both the router and the modem. I was beginning to wonder if my equipment was damaged in the move, but then it hit me (this is the part that confirms my earlier theory of me being a moron) - I was using the ISP's dial-up program to connect and authenticate my connection. This is the same proceedure I was doing to access via my modem without my router, but forgot that my router was also authenticating my user name and password. When I tried directly via MS Explorer, I connected instantly.
Thanks again for the help, hope others can learn by this.
Regards,
JM Brazil
