I have windows 98 and I can not connect and download files over the network from computers running windows 2000. Is there any patch out there which will let me connect to those computers and download the shared files.

Thanks,
Tac

Your problem statement is pretty vague and leaves many pieces of information unstated.

First, release that W2K requires a user account for you to connect to and access files on it. Once the user account is created, the user must have rights to access these files.

The easiest way is to make your shares accessable by the "Everyone" group. This is completely unsecure, but allows anyone one to access the shares.

You must go also login to the W2K machine. The first time that you attempt to connect to a share, it should prompt for login and password.

More information on the steps and configurations taken would help with the diagnosis.
