Can't connect to server using wifi

Speedtouch / 585

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a bubba 2 server connected by ethernet cable to my speedtouch 585 router and can connect my laptop to it ok when the laptop is also connected to an ethernet port on the router. But when I disconnect my laptop from the ethernet port I can't connect to the server using wifi from the laptop. I can still connect to the internet via wireless from the laptop and I can ping the server, but can't actually open folders on it or open the server web browser.

I also have a squeezebox connected to the bubba server via wifi and it works fine.

I have disabled the windows firewall and Norton firewall and still no joy.

OS on laptop is windows vista.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Check the TCP/IP settings on the laptop when connected to wireless and also the server. Put that info into a response here so we can compare.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
