Subject: Can't connect to network using W2K
Comment:

I've just upgraded one of my servers to W2K from NT4 (SP6). When I boot normally, I only get ping responses to my own IP address. When I boot in "Safe mode with networking", I get ping responses to all valid IP addresses (in my domain and out.)

Whazzup?

Apparently w2k does a network search on start up wich could be causing your problem maybe try disable this program via running services or something and see if it helps
also unistall then reinstall tcp/ip
tell me if you get anywhere

Paul,
Thanks for the suggestions. I'd already tried the tcp/ip uninstall - reinstall. I'm not sure what service might be doing a network lookup, so I haven't disabled any services, yet.
Another source suggested taking the server out of the domain and readding it... No good.
