Could it be that your NT server is setup for TCP/IP or NETBEU over TCP/IP and the MS DOS Client only supports NETBIOS, or that the MS DOS Client is not in the same workgroup.

i did use the same domain name as my windows 98 when i logon in ms client. and i checked the server it's not running dhcp nor dns but wins and netbios. i've 2 server in 2 domain in the network. server ntA in domain 3214A runs the dhcp, dns and wins. server ntB in domain 3255A runs only wins. i want to connect to the share in ntB. but when i use net view after running ms client bootdisk and logging into 3255A, it says error 6118: the list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available. but when i use an a/c from domain 3214A and logging into 3214A, i can browse the shares available in 3214A. why with windows 98 i can log in to 3255A and see ntB?
