I can't connect to my campus T1 network. The connection status shows pakets being sent but none being recieved. I even reinstalled windows XP but to no luck. I did the ipconfig /renew thing millios of times but still no connection.

Is it possible to get an ip address from another computer here at the school and place the same address into my computer to get it to work properly

Please Help!!!

I don't have the answer to your problem, but to the question posed.. You can't just enter the IP address of another computer.. It wouldn't work.. Thats like giving your friends your neighbors phone number and expecting your phone to ring when they call it..

Are you using a router or connecting directly? If a router, you need to clone the mac address of your computer in order to connect.
