"I'm not sure if this will be a wireless connection ir wifi."
Not sure what you mean by that, WiFi is wireless. That printer is AirPrint compatible so it should work, do you have the wireless feature on the printer turned on and configured? Can you print to it with another laptop or device that uses WiFi?
Try power cycling your devices, first power cycle your router, wait about a minute then power cycle the printer, specifically in that order.

Have you installed the drivers for the printer correctly; and also enabled wifi on the printer?

is the "Getting Started Guide" for your printer…

Section 3 is where it details how to setup the wifi aspect…

It refers also to the actual "User Manual" for more detailed help - especially if you do NOT have a wifi router…

I strongly encourage you to read "both" the above guides and manual.

I say this as it's what "folks here" will do in order to assist you further.

Most wifi printers that provide (allow) ethernet/cat-5 connection and wifi too - usually allow only one or the other to be active at any time… So again check the way you have installed/configured it for network use. You can - if you have a wifi router (and most are these days?) connect the printer via ethernet, and then use the router's wifi to allow you access to the printer…

So have you installed it all as per the Getting started - at least; maybe even as in (more detailed) User Manual?

Also - what make/model router do you have?

Something else to try. Do you have iTunes installed? When you install iTunes, it also installs a program called Bonjour which is needed for Airprint.

Try downloading Bonjour all by itself and installing it.
