I have tried on NUMEROUS occasions to add a printer to my laptop. Printer is connected by cables to desktop, laptop is a wireless connection using a Netgear card. When I get to the page where I am supposed to pick out my printer in the add a printer wizard, it tells me it needs the name of my printer and only the "microsoft Network" shows up in the larger box, my MSHOME does not show up underneath it. I have a feeling that the Netgear card has something to do with not being able to add the printer. I tried to read some forum answers on Netgear but I'm not that good with the technical aspect. I know I've seen on my laptop that Microsoft has not configured my wireless connection that Netgear has. Can anyone help?

if you are using windows xp, right click on the printer on your desktop computer and go to sharing. Enable sharing and create a share name for that printer within your mshome workgroup. After you share the printer, go to your laptop and then see if it is there.

I think part of my problem is I'm not doing something right. I can't even see my workgroup. Is all I get when I use the add a printer wizard on the last screen is Miscrosoft Network and not my workgroup below it. I saw that once while I tried and tried and tried. But, no this didn't work.
