guys, I have core2 quad PC with realtech network card inbuilt. win vista ultimate. So I have installed server 2003, configured dns, ad and dhcp in virtual PC 2007. when i try to add my win xp virtual client to the domain it whows "axiom.local" domain can't be found. but it is taking the ip address from the DHCP. then I installed two more servers and one was able to join the domain. what do think is the problem? ( it happened with Windows 7 also).

It sounds to me like you have configured something incorrectly. Check the DNS IP address as you've configured it in the DHCP service. It should be the IP of the DC with the DNS service on it. Also, check to ensure your DC's DNS IP points at itself.
I hope you're not letting a server get it's IP from DHCP!?!?
Any/all services should have static IP assignments so their IP never changes. So servers, network printers, etc, are always statically assigned IP's that are outside of the DHCP scope (so as to avoid possible duplicate IP issues).

If it were me, I would completely reinstall Server 2003 and start over. Once you're finished the install, run dcpromo on it and allow it to configure DNS during the promotion.
There may be something going on with your Virtual PC 2007 program and I have no experience with that so can't help you there.
