Can't access the internet anymore

March 24, 2011 at 21:03:03
Specs: Windows XP
Please help. I used to be able to connect to the internet, but I can't anymore. I have spoken to Telstra who have tested the line, and they say that everything is ok, it must be my system. I have disengaged my security software, and attempted connection again, but nothing. I have followed these instructions Go to start, run, and type in the following netsh winsock reset then press ok, but nothing. Can someone help please.

Do you have a SOHO Router between you and the internet?

What type of internet connection do you have (ADSL/Cable)?

Open a command prompt window (ie: Start >> Run >> type cmd and hit Enter) and perform the following command:

ipconfig /all

Copy the ouput of that command and post it in a reply with the answers to the above questions. For info on how to copy the output in a command prompt window click on my name above in my response and read my "how-to" guide titled, "â—¦Post the output of ipconfig (version 2)"

I am the captain of my soul.

Many thanks for your assistance, but it appears that my Security software was creating a problem. I have since deleted this, and reinstalled another security software, and I can now get onto the Internet. Many thanks for your assistance.
