Can you ping the IP 192.168.1.1 from the PC? If not check that your PC IP has not been altered. It should be a 192.168.1.x address. To check your IP run "winipcfg" for WIN95/98/ME or "ipconfig /all" for NT/2000/XP.

If you check the manual that should come with the router, there usually will be a way to reset the routers configuration. Ip address will the be factory settings the router came with, and its ip configuration is described in the manual.
So follow this procedure: 1. find a way to reset the router. 2. find out what the factory ip-address is ( address after the reset. ) 3. try to connect !
if this does not work, something might be wrong with the router software, and you might have to flash the router, depending on how this is done you might be able to performe this operation your self. If all seem hopeless, contact your vendor, and have them fix the router for you.

had the same problem one time before with same router.
there is a reset button on the front of the router. get a paper clip, stick it in the hole and hold it there, pressing the button in for 10 seconds. the router will turn red and flash about a couple of times.
this "should" reset the ip address to 192.168.1.1 and the default password, no username needed.
