since last week i've started having trouble accessing one of my computers on my network. the computer sometimes shows up under workgroup computers but cannot be accessed. i know the computer is seen on the network because it shows up in my workgroup but i cannot access it. I also cannot ping it by name - i can ping it with it's ip and can also establish a remote acess connection through its ip but cannot access it through anything (files/printers/remote) that uses its network name.

if u can ping that means there is connectivity.if u cannot ping its NETBIOS name then this is a WINS problem.make sure u have file print sharing enabled on the network card for that PC and make sure the "server" service is running under services.if these 2 are not enabled then you will not be able to browse the remote machine
