Specs: win xp, 1024
Title: Cannot access to another workstation network shares when server goes down.

This is my network spec
Running Win2k3 sp2
about 10 xp workstations with shares folders and domain under win2k3 server

Whenever my server is shutdown, I cannot access to network shares from other workstation's shared folder.

I get this message, "There are no logon servers available to service the logon request."

I already setup 1 of the shared folder permission to everybody full control for testing, however, i still cannot access.

My question, are there anyway to access to share folder with server going down?

Of course not, if the shares on located on the machine that isn't currently on the network. Don't you have a redundant server?

if workstation to workstation fails there could be a number of reasons, a gpo, firewall settings, no user/guest access granted, name resolution...

can you ping between the workstations?

All workstations are under the server's domain. If server down, workstations cannot access to other workstation's shared folders.

No I do not have redundant server. Small network.

Yes. I can ping each others
