Hello there
i've got a problem
i'm living in uni halls and i'm on uni lan. i just plug in my cable into wall socket and internet works just fine. i've decided to try my router and see if it works, connected it up, changed some settings in my router (192.168.2.1) and now i can't access it any more! i've tried reseting it about 30 times now but still no luck. it's wireless belkin F5D7633-4B router. I've only changed in LAN ip address to 10.1.1.108 which is my IP on uni lan. how do i get back inside my router?
thanks!

By "resetting" it do you mean you've pushed the reset button in back? Strange: that's supposed to return it to factory defaults.

if all you've done is unplug it then that's your problem: Push the reset button, connect your PC to it via Ethernet, fire up your browser, and call up the configuration screen at 192.168.1.1 . The Admin account userid & password have been reset to default values.

To connect it to the university LAN set the router to "Assign IP Address Automatically" and "Use DHCP Server for WINS resolution." then connect it to the wall LAN connection and fire it up. Do the same for your PC. You should have an instruction package from your dorm for any special settings you need.

To reset most routers to factory conditions you have to hold the reset for 10 seconds or so until the LEDs start flashing.

Do you need to set a static IP for connection to your uni halls? If so, remember those settings, change your computer to 'obtain IP auto ...,' connect computer to router, set router's WAN to the static IP (and whatever other settings) you need to use.

Oh, and setting the router's LAN IP to same as computer--not a swift move because each device on a network has to have a unique IP address.
