can't access d-link web log on

for some unknown reason i can't seem to be able to d-link's web log on. i type:192.168.0.1 which brings up the log on page. i then type "admin" and leave password blank. i click the "ok" button several times and then i get: "404 unauthorized" i am able to ping that address and my internet connection is good. the router is a d-link di604 and am using adelphia power link. i tried on my kids pc and get the same problem.
