Try calling your ISP about this one. They're most likely to be the people that will be able to help you out.

Sounds like filters the ISP has activated to prevent spread of worms and trojans between their customers systems and scans within their network. (Only inbound/outbound packets, no internetwork TCP/IP packets between customers.)

This has been proposed for networks where many customers don't know or care about security (or worse abuse it), and they have to do something to control it.

Most Cable companies do not allow "servers" on their network that are not "business" accounts. Read the agreement policy fine print on acceptable usage. And such filters are one way to enforce the policy and still allow remote access to your system at home.

JackG would say you prob right on this , would the reason why i cant view their own website be because there "filter" is blocking them too?

Is there any way round this?
I have heard of some "portal"sites on the net they you can view websites. (i.e viewing another website inside their website) do you know off any or if this would work

Thanks

Shaun
