Cannot Stay Connected more that 7 minutes

Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium, 2 gb
I have a new laptop and im on broadband connection. I have to reboot after utilising one website because it does not open a 2nd website and says connecting and gives the connecting too numbers isp and then gives the typical black text page - "cannot open the website". im brand new to laptops. just wondered if the advance tab in Tools, Internet Options needs to be changed? tried resetting to default but still same problem. Maybe some boxes need to be unchecked?

I think your using 2wire wireless router.. Please give more information: Are you trying to access through wireless or wired connection? Who is your ISP? and router details?

Also you can try connecting a cable directly to the modem & laptop and check whether problem still exsists.

zonealarm software was the problem.
i removed it and it connects fine now
