Subject: Cannot print from my HP722 on network |
Comment: I have networked via Linksys cable router my XP machine and a Win 98 machine. Everything works except I cannot print from my Win 98 machine. It is supposed to share the printer on the XP machine. I have the printer set to share on the XP. I am using the print drivers from my XP installation CD. The HP website says that it is the most current driver. Is there anyone who is sharing a HP 722 on a home network using XP? I'm beginning to suspect that the driver is not compatible for network sharing. I'm running out of things to try. Thanks

Reply: (edit)It won't really work because the only driver you loaded in XP is for XP only. You have to load Win98 printer driver too. Right click printer then properties choose Additional drivers then click Intel Win95,98,Me then insert the win98 driver.

Reply: (edit)How do I load the 98 drivers into XP. Do I just get the latest 98 drivers from HP and install them in XP or do I have to do something special if XP doesn't recognize 98 drivers.
