Cannot Ping Router

I have two different locations where some machines suddenly cannot ping their router - by name or IP address. The router can ping the machines however. The machines also cannot logon to the domain.

This may sound really stupid...but check the cables to those computers. I had a similar issue and it was because the cat decided to chew on the CAT5 and she exposed 1 pair.
