Little help would be wonderful, am about to shoot these puters...

Here is my problem - I have 2 computers and am trying to connect them to the internet through a router. Router brand is Network Everywhere, manufacturer is Linksys. DSL modem is MSN DSL 1000. I can connect either computer to the internet directly through the modem, but when I connect the modem to the Internet port on the router, and connect the computers to the router, I get nothing.

I can ping the modem at 192.168.1.1 when connected directly to it, and I can ping the router at 192.168.1.1 when connected directly to it. But, I cannot ping anything past router. I am obviously not getting any connectivity between the modem and router, but I have no idea how to change anything to make em work. Tried tech support for MSN, they said the do not help with network problems. Tried tech support for the router, they said they do not help with connectivity problems.

Any tips, links, anything would be wonderful and most appreciated.

Check your gateway settings :
Gateway should be 192.168.1.1 if this is

not your gateway then you would be able to ping the router but nothing pass it. If you need help with more detail, email me. Hope this helps ~Keith

Are you saying the router and the modem have the exact same IP?

Can you change the router's or modem's internal IP to something else?

Do a firmware update on your router, also enable MTU and set it to 1400.
