Subject: cannot join domain OS: Win XP Pro CPU/Ram: 1.5Gh/256M

Comment: Had a workstation with Win98 already connected to the network. Decided to upgrade to Win XP Pro. Did a clean install and formated the drive NTSF. Everything went smooth except when the network wizard popped up. I entered the domain name, user name and password (i did this a bout three or four time double checking everything each time) and i get the following error message "Your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following error has occured: Access Denied" Now I know there are some securiy and permission issues with XP, but not sure how to check them, nor sure if that is the problem. Any help? "Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right."

Reply: (edit)your previous post was about a workgroup. So you have created a domain now? NT or W2K domain? Remove and readd the machine account. Make sure the wkst dns/wins entries are correct so it can find the server.

Reply: (edit)You know, I figured that might cause an issue, this is a different Alex. I have tried to remove the account and add it anew. I have also checked the DNC/WINS. Everything seems to be right. "Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right."
