i need to put wireless in my location. I have a cicso e2000 wireless router to install. We currently have a cisco pix connected to comcast modem. All computers are wired to the pix currently. Trying to connect the e2000 so we can have wireless. i changed the local ip address on lthe e 2000 to 192.168.2.1, but still wont work.
telling us you have manually altered the wireless router's IP to 192.168.2.1 means nothing in isolation. I have no experience with the PIX system but from reading a little on the subject they do not seem to provide DHCP but do provide NAT so how are your existing client devices obtaining their IPs? Are they all manually configured? What IP range are they operating in? Which port of the new wireless router are you connecting to ? WAN or LAN and have you enabled or disabled DHCP in that router?
