Our school runs off a big network. We connect to printers, public files, and email (all essential for passing in this school) and just recently I have not been able to connect to the network from my laptop (given to each student) I am, however, able to log into my account from other peoples laptops. So from this I found out its a software/setting problem because I can still connect to the schools internet via Wireless. I currently use the admin account to do work and research. If I want to print something, I need to email it to myself, and download that file onto someone elses laptop.
