Comment: my computer won't allow me to connect to anything that needs a internet connection (internet explorer, limewire, aim, etc), yet when I go to my network settings, it shows that I have a normal connection. this is a desktop that's wireless. obviously i would like to figure out the problem and fix it. thanks in advance for your help

Reply: (edit)All right, I'm stumped, give us a clue. What error messages do you get when you try and run something like Internet Explorer. Stuart

Reply: (edit)Try rebooting your router. Make sure you disconnect then reboot. Wait for the router to reboot and the reconnect your pc.

Reply: (edit)i've already tried rebooting my computer along with like 3 different system restores. none of that worked. it's not a router or modem problem because i have other computers on the network working just fine, and the computer with problems is receiving a signal.
