Cannot connect to any website

Hi, I am using wireless internet connection.Am not being able to access any website.The error says: Internet Explorer could not find the search page. It is strange as i am being able to connect to gtalk from my system. Also sometimes i can connect to some websites for a minute or so. Please advise.

If you hover your mouse over your network icon on the lower right, what signal strength pops up?
It sounds like you may have an intermittent signal. Are you near the wireless access point?

It is not a signal strength problem i guess..coz signal strength says excellent or good most of the times.Am wondering if it is something to do with the anti virus,firewall

I think it is beacuse of the anti virus Mcafee as when i disable the anti virus the sites work.Please advise.I think there is some setting in the Mcafee which is prohibiting this
