In our network I can access a computer that I have remote desktop setup on... But a company in Texas cannot access it via IP address.
I assume I need to call my ISP and get another static IP address, then assign that static IP address to a local static IP address that only the remote desktop computer has priveledges to.
How would I go about doing this? I already have the additional IP address now...
In fact we have 3 static IP's from our DSL company...
Our setup goes from DSL modem > Apple Time Capsule > Linksys Switch > Remote Desktop PC
Does anyone know how to get this to work so when I give the company in Texas my IP address, they can get into the remote desktop PC?
Thanks all! Hope someone can help me out.

If you can access this computer from outside of your lan then your side is OK.You don't need a static IP but it is a bit easier.
We also don't know if you have a vpn.
If not one side usually has to have upnp enabled on the router or you need to manually configure each side.
See also remote desktop web connection.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Jefro, actually I cannot access the remote desktop outside of the office, say I go home, I cannot access it from my house by putting in the static IP address.
We do not use a VPN.
What would I need to manually configure on each side?
I will read the Microsoft link.

So I'm curious, how would I set it up in Time Capsule?
Can you input the proper ports and info into the fields I would have to insert content into? I've tried 4-5 times, cant figure it out :-(...

Oh wow, that depends on what router model you're using.
source port: 1024 to 65535
destination port: 3389
source ip address: any
destination ip address: the internal ip of the pc you want to connect toIf this dosn't help, post the exact router type.

In your manual for the AirPort Networks 10.5 (or whatever), see chapter 3, starting at page 54.
Title: Directing Network Traffic to a specific Computer on Your Network (Port Mapping)The public UDP ports could be blank.
The public TCP ports are 1024 - 65535
The correct notation for a port range is not described, so you may choose one of the predefined services to see, how the correct notation is.
The private IP Address: IP of the pc you want to connect to.
Private UDP Ports: could also be blank.
Private TCP Ports: 3389
