I have 5 computers, all with the same problem. I performed a clean install and upgraded to sp3, and none of them are able to access microsoft.com. Other computers on the network can. Is this an sp3 issue? I have done with process 30+ times on these computers, never having this issue.

usual sign of malware/virus infection which is to cutoff access to updates and software defination files. Update your malware/antivirus software and run it.

Did that an there is nothing on the system (spyware or viruses). And I didn't think there would be anything because I just did a complete clean install. No way anything got on it (and 4 others). I'm currently doing another clean install on one of the systems. Any other possible thoughts? Anyone ever heard of this? I wonder if one of the service packs and/or IE8 file was bad....any thoughts/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

what are the results?
clean installs won't solve your issue if the first clean install didn't.
what changed recently? recent reconfig of a software firewall/antimalware software? Didn't go into the router and do a domain restriction?
