I have just moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend and will be using my phone line for internet. We have transfered her existing internet (she is using a Mac) and her internet is working fine. My PC however is not.
We are both connected with ethernet cables and on my PC it shows that the connection of the network is connected but I cannot get an Internet page to load. I am wondering if the problem might stem from her using a Mac and me a PC?
Perhaps I have not configured my PC's settings correctly. Should I even have to? I was using a wired connection before but was using cable to access the internet. Could my problem be a switch from cable to phone line? Could it be the Mac/PC issue?
Any thoughts would be wonderful.
Thanks very muchEdit:
1) This is the modem we were given - SpeedStream 6520
2) I'm not currently at home so I can't give detailed specifics on the numbers

Your Speedstream 6520 is a combined modem/router so there is no reason why both PC and Mac should not connect simultanously.
The first thing to check is to go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all.
Post back the results.
Stuart
