My dad just bought new HP laptop, bought the Verizon Broadband Wireless service. But he wants to use that service to get online with his desktop...1) is that possible ? 2) If so, how do I do it ??? I'm thinking...wireless NIC card, and a wireless router ??? Help - he's driving me crazy - but I'll do almost anything to get him off AOL/desktop access ! Thanks

If the contract with Verizon only provides him with one IP address, then getting a router with wireless capability will possibly work for you. Does the desktop already have an Ethernet adapter in it or not?
Wireless routers generally come with RJ-11 ports for CAT5 cable.
Depending on how you want to set up the equipment, a cable from the router to an Ethernet adapter in the desktop may work OK.

I doubt you can go the regular route. I suspect your only option will be to put a second nic in the laptop and do ics to the desktop.
