I have a simple 3 computer network using a hub/switch. The 2 desktops work
fine with each other but the laptop with an Ovislink LFS PCM-32 card does not. It will
recognize other computers and will show up on the other computers but when I
try to browse a shared subdirectory on another computer it is very slow and when I try to transfer a file it says that the "specified network resources are no longer available". When I try to browse from Windows Explorer it usually locks up my computer. The light says that it is connected at 100Mb as it should be. The laptop
shows up on the other computers but they cannot move any of the files, it
says unavailable or not working. I have taken it to the store that I bought
it but they say it works on their network which is only 10Mb. I have tried
the automatic IP addressing and manual IP addressing but nothing seems to fix this problem. I talked at length to Ovislink but they said that since the card appeared to work on the network (i.e. I could ping another computer) then it must be something else. I don't think I was talking to real experts in either case.I am running Windows 98SE on the laptop and one desktop, and Windows ME on one desktop. The problem with the laptop exists when trying to browse either of the desktops.
Does anyone have any ideas?

manually set all cards to 100mb full
duplex. I have seen similar problems
where autodect works but slow, and
manually setting speeds fixed problem.
Not really sure why.
