Can ping, but can't

Hi,
We are moving to a new building and I have set up a server in the new building to test connectivity to our WAN. I was able to get it configured so that WAN access is ok.
I can ping any pc in the company, but when I do a search on a pc's name I get nothing. If I look for a computer through network places I can see the workgroups/domains, but not the computers in them. If I attempt to connect to a share on the new server from the old building I get the dreaded 'network path not found', but I can ping it all day long. I can ping every computer from every other computer in this scenario.
I thought this was a DNS issue (and it still may be), but I have configured this server just like every other one.
If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it!!
try nslookup to see if the names can be resolved or try 'net view' from the command prompt

try connecting to the share by using its IP address (ie. \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\share). If you can ping the machines you should be able to connect this way.

You will need to forward udp broadcasts and probably assign a helper address for your windows hosts. You will also need a correctly configured wins server.
