Can not see a computer on network

This laptop is runnig fine on the network i.e if you sit in front of it you can do anything that's need to be done on the network, But the problem is that i can't browse this particular workstation from anywhere on the network eventhough i can ping the IP address but if i go to start/run and type the IP then i got a message that the network path is not fund.I have about 40 workstation in my WORKGROUP and this is the only one with this issue. Please help me out.

You allready put the name on the workgroup on the machine your working on right?

Yes i do and like i said you can succesfully browse the network sitting in front of this laptop but you can't connect to it from the network.

We had a problem with 98 boxes seeing an XP box. We had to install the NetBUEI protocol on the XP box (M$ dropped it with XP).
What os's are you working with?

this is win2k and you can even see the XP from it but you can't see it from anywhere.

ok try this,cause i remember that i think i had a problem like this,,make sure that the win98box has all the security updates...go to mircrosoft web site and get all the major updates for win98,are you using win98 second additon?
