Can not access Exchange Server

At work we installed Exchange 2003 on our server and we want to be able to publish schedules and files for our field personnel to access - we set them up with a user account, however they are unable to access the server. We gave them the url configured as follows - http:// www.ourbusinessname.com/exchange - but they can not get in.

oh, BTW, when I say they can't access, I mean they cant even connect to the server, they all report that the browser tries to find the server but ultimately times out...
